The national selectors today announced their squad to face Hong Kong in two One Day Internationals in this year’s edition of the Braidwood Cup at the Grange in Edinburgh on Thursday 8th and Saturday 10th September.

This will be the first time the two sides have met since the 2016 ICC World T20 in India, where Scotland secured their first win at a global event in Nagpur.

Preston Mommsen will lead an almost identical outfit to the one that secured two ICC World Cricket League Championship wins over the United Arab Emirates in August 2016 at the same venue.

The captain will be looking to continue his good form with the bat after reaching his second ODI hundred against UAE, a series which also saw the experienced Kyle Coetzer and Calum MacLeod score centuries.

Ahead of the Scotland’s final games this season coach Grant Bradburn said, “Our players will relish the opportunity to play two more ODI's before the summer ends and are eager to finish the home season on a positive note.

We have seen huge benefits this season from training hard as a wider squad and we now have more players than ever contesting selection in the national team.

As a team, we love playing at The Grange where we were treated to brilliant one day pitches for the UAE series. I sense a real determination to both perform and entertain within the squad. Hong Kong is a team that look to play dynamic white ball cricket too, so this series will be a tough test that we are desperate to win.”

Scotland will have seam bowler Gavin Main available for the second ODI.

Both matches start at 10:45am with tickets available on the gate at £10 adults and £5 concessions (students/OAPs), under 16s get free entry.
