The final issues across the top sections of the NCU season were decided at the weekend.

On Saturday, in Section One, Woodvale’s seven-wicket defeat of Saintfield condemned the latter to relegation. Saintfield posted 99, with Saeed taking 5-16 for the visitors. In the Woodvale reply, David Connelly top-scored with 32.

Although already relegated from Section Two, Millpark managed to record a first win of the season by beating BISC. The McCarts - Paul and Ryan - helped Millpark reach 124 in the 18-run success.

Laurelvale met BISC aiming to overcome a 200-run deficit in search of promotion via net run-rate but were bowled out for 67 in an eight-wicket defeat.

Understrength CIYMS met CSNI at Belmont in the Premier League, with skipper Nigel Jones run out in the third over before John Matchett fell to a wonder catch by Paddy Park off Jason van der Merwe.

Chris Dougherty top-scored with 23 out of 84 and CSNI captain Andrew Cowden took 4-13. The visitors were then able to win in virtually cruise control to confirm fourth. Cowden posted 29 not out and Shane Getkate was 22 not out.
