Co Clare reached their first Senior Cup Final following a commanding 190 run over Tipperary, at Ballyeighan. Co Clare remain undefeated in all competitions this year with thanks to some powerful batting displays from the inform Farman(89) and Sukhpal(97). Tipperary Started brightly taking Javid's(6) wicket but Clare recovered building partnership after another, despite giving the Tipp men plenty of catching opportunities. Clare's controlled innings finished on 307-8 with Tipperary recovering taking 3 wickets in the final 2 overs but the damage had already being done. Pick of the Tipp bowlers was Ginson 3-56-10.
Tipperary were put on the back foot at the start of their innings losing 4 wickets for 37 runs with some tight bowling from Farmann and Bilal and faced a mountain to keep up with Clare's run rate. Brookes(25) and Jomy(21) did put a good partnership together but another 4 wicket for 12 runs collapse all but sealed the game for the Shannonsiders. Tipp were finally bowled out for 117. Pick of the Clare bowlers was Bilal 3-18-9. Credit must go to Tipperary who were missing many of their regular players and were the remaining Div 2 side left in the competition. Clare March On.

Over in Galway, 10 man, Limerick Raiders batted first in a rain effected game. An opening stand by Khurram(35) and Sohail (39) of 62 set Raiders in good stead but 4 quick wickets reduced the Limerick men to 89-5 having found the bowling of Jameel and Tabish difficult to put away. Raiders did recover with Alam (46) enjoying another fine innings but he was unable to prevent Galway from suffocating the runs. Limerick's innings ended abruptly with a heavy downpour while they were on 182-8. Pick of the bowlers: Jameel 3-28-10
With the game reduced to 46 overs and more rain forecasted, the Galway openers attacked the seamers from the start. Mullen(57) was in great form again and quickly accumulated runs with the help of Ali(36). Limerick were rewarded at regular intervals with A Khan and Khuramm taking 2 wickets a piece. However, another rain delay reduced the overs further but despite this, Galway were always in control of the run rate and crossed the line with 6 overs to spare. Pick of the bowlers: Khuramm 2-33-5
Galway have yet to win the Munster Senior Cup, having being runners up on 4 occasions. This will be an interesting contest , with a new name on the trophy.
