GARETH DELANY hit an unbeaten 71 as Leinster Under 17's chased down a modest target of 167 to beat Ireland's Under 15's at Phoenix Park.

Delany struck 9 boundaries in a solid knock, anchoring the Leinster reply.

Adam Chester provided excellent support, hitting 4 fours and 2 sixes in a breezy 35, while Stephen Doheny looked in good touch before being run out for 16.

Aaron O'Neill (1-19), Harry Tector (1-23), Stuart Nelson (1-24) and Morgan Topping (1-24) were the successful bowlers for the Irish Under 15's.

The Ireland Under 15 innings of 165 for 7 had been dominated by Conor O'Gorman's undefeated 61 (6 fours), who shared a 7th wicket stand of 79 with Josh Murphy (21) after Ireland's Under 15's had slumped to 86 for 6 on a difficult track for batting.

Earlier Harry Tector had looked impressive in making a composed 33.

Leinster Under 17's used no fewer than 10 bowlers, with Tom Stanton (2-18) the most impressive, while there was a wicket apiece for Max Neville, Dean Brogan, Gareth Delany and Danny Hogan.

Ireland's Under 15 side plays in the European Championships in Rugby next month.
