The second day of World Cricket League Division Three in Malaysia has seen Uganda go into the reserve day as the only unbeaten side after a narrow one run win against Singapore in a match that went right to the last ball.

Batting first after winning the toss, Uganda for the most part struggled with the bat. Only Roger Mukasa and Hamu Bagenda got decent starts, scoring 37 and 36 respectively. Saad Janjua took 4-25 as Uganda were bowled out for 196, the final wicket falling from their last ball.

Scoring slowly at first, Singapore looked unlikely to get close to the Ugandan total, especially with their top four all out by the 34th over. Chetan Suryawanshi top scored for them with 42 before leaving things to the rest of the batting line-up. The lower order slowly eased towards their target, getting to the last over needing nine runs.

Saad Janjua ran a single at the start of the final over, before Jonathan Sebanja bowled a wide which saw Abhiraj Singh run through for another run. Six from five needed then, but the game swung back the way of Uganda when Sebanja has Janjua caught behind.

Singles from each of the next three balls put Singapore in the position of needing two to tie and three to win. Mohamed Shoib was run out coming back for a second run and Uganda had won by one run, ensuring that they topped the table heading into the reserve day.

The hosts took on USA at the Bayumas Oval, with Ahmed Fiaz putting the USA into bat after winning the toss. Suresh Navaratnam removed both USA openers early on, leaving the middle order to rebuild the innings. They mostly failed to do, with Malaysia having them on 124-7 in the 44th over.

It took a remarkable display of hitting from Adil Bhatti to bring some respectability to the USA total. The lower order batsman, who will celebrate his 30th birthday on Tuesday, smashed 42 from just 21 balls before he was out, helping the eighth wicket to put on 55. The final USA total was 186-8 from their 50 overs.

Malaysia's reply started slowly, and they were only on 93 when the fifth wicket fell in the 30th over. Suharril Fetri and Shafiq Sharif proceed to put on an unbroken 96 for the sixth wicket to secure the five wicket win. Both scored fifties individually, scoring 55 and 59 respectively.

Bermuda's poor start to the tournament continued with a thumping defeat at the hands of Nepal, who bounced back from their defeat yesterday in fine style. Put into bat, Bermuda were bundled out for just 100 - six less than they made against the USA yesterday - with only the top four reaching double figures.

Nepal wasted little time chasing down their target, doing so in even more convincing fashion than the USA did, taking just over hald the amount of overs. Binod Bhandari top scored with an unbeaten 43 from 31 balls as they won by 8 wickets, with Subash Khakurel also contributing with 30.

There will be a rest day in the tournament tomorrow, with play resuming on Sunday with Uganda looking to make it three from three when they take on the USA. Bermuda will look for a first win when they play the hosts, whilst Singapore will come up against Nepal.
