Suriname have secured promotion to Americas Division One after winning the Division Two tournament in Florida yesterday.

Their day didn't start particularly well though, as they lost to the then without a win Argentina. Batting first after winning the toss, Suriname scored 115-8 from their 20 overs, Mohindra Boodram top scoring with 55. Hernan Fennell took 5-16. Argentina then completed their 8 wicket win in 19 overs, Bernardo Irigiyen top scoring with 32.

The other match of the morning saw the Cayman Islands bat first after winning the toss against the Bahamas, scoring 117-7. Ryan Bovell then took 5-12 to bowl the Bahamas out for 91, securing a 26 run win. The Caymans then made it two wins from two by beating Argentina by 6 wickets in their afternoon match.

Suriname completed their tournament win in their afternoon match against the Bahamas. The Bahamas won the toss and chose to bat first and were bowled out for 83, Sauid Drepaul taking 3-13. Suriname knocked off the required runs in 13.2 overs to win by 6 wickets.

Suriname will now join Bermuda, Canada and the USA in Americas Division One at a date and venue still to be announced. They have also qualified for Division Six of the World Cricket League.
