5:42 PM And that's a wrap for us here at World Cricket League Division 2. Thanks to all of you at home for joining us, but for now this is Bertus de Jong signing off from Wanderers Windhoek.
5:38 PM Well ceremonies over and celebrations can begin. Man of the Match goes to Michael Rippon, Man of the Tournament to Nepal skipper Paras Khadka. The Dutch showed themselves worthy tournament winners in their last three games, despite squeaking into the final by the skin of their teeth. The Namibian camp seems cheerful enough too, both teams headed to the I-Cup and WCLC. Beer and good cheer all around, but spare a though for Canada and Nepal, both still with a shot at promotion yesterday, Canada now facing an uncertain future in Division 3 despite putting in some solid performance here, and Nepal missing promotion and now languishing in fourth place, the victim of the Netherlands' last minute run rate blitz and their own apparent inability to pass 200 runs.
Nepal v Kenya at United Ground, Windhoek
Nepal 193 all out (47 overs)
It has been in many ways an extraordinary tournament, one which will live in the memory for a very long time, for reasons both good and bad. The Netherlands and Namibia progress to the WCL Championship and the Intercontinental Cup, Canada and Uganda head for Division 3, while for Kenya and Nepal the immediate future seems a little uncertain. But one thing is clear: Associates cricket is alive and well!
Nepal v Kenya at United Ground, Windhoek
Nepal 193 all out (47 overs)
Sickening for Nepal as another batting collapse sees them slide from 144 for three to 193 all out. Elijah Otieno and Lucas Oluoch did most of the damage when they returned to the attack, and fine innings from Bhandari and Malla turned out to be in vain. A great comeback by Kenya, who seemed to be doomed to Division 3 four days ago.
Nepal v Kenya at United Ground, Windhoek
Nepal 193 all out (47 overs)
It's skipper Rakep Patel who takes the winning catch, as Oluoch bowls a wicket maiden, getting Gauchan off the last ball. It's all over, and Kenya claim theird place with a 15-run victory!
Nepal v Kenya at United Ground, Windhoek
Nepal 193-9 (46 overs)
16 needed from 24 balls, with one wicket in hand.
Nepal v Kenya at United Ground, Windhoek
Nepal 193-9 (45.3 overs)
Karki is caught behind off Narendra Patel, and it's all down to Gauchan and last man Karan Khatri Chhetri!!!
Nepal v Kenya at United Ground, Windhoek
Nepal 190-8 (44.1 overs)
And Vesawkar goes, caught by Rakep Patel off Oluoch for 24. It's bite-the-head-off-the-umbrella time again!
Nepal v Kenya at United Ground, Windhoek
Nepal 187-7 (42 overs)
22 required from eight overs - it should be comfortable, but the Nepalese supporters won't relax until the winning run is scored!
Nepal v Kenya at United Ground, Windhoek
Nepal 176-7 (39 overs)
Not for the first time, a great weight rests on the shoulders of Sharad Vesawkar, who needs to see his side home here.
Nepal v Kenya at United Ground, Windhoek
Nepal 173-7 (37.4 overs)
Meanwhile, over at the play-off for third place, Aarif Sheikh has been and gone, a fourth wicket for Otieno, and Sompal Kami has followed, caught behind off Nehemiah Odhiambo without scoring. We could be in for a tense conclusion to the tournament!
4:25 PM A comfortable win for the Netherlands in the end, Captain leading the way they've made light work of the total, though they've certainly had a few scares on the way to the title. All credit to Namibia, who have had an excellent tournament and may well feel they just picked the wrong day to win. Handshakes and Silverware the order of the day now, but both sides have certainly earned their promotion to the World Cricket League Championship.
