Colin Siller (right) has played for several clubs in Scotland, and has been picking up some coaching credentials in recent years.

After having had a spell at Irish youth level and as assistant coach of Canada at the 2005 ICC Trophy, he nearly became assistant coach to Zimbabwe in 2006, but his appointment never happened due to politics in the country.

Last year he was one of the final two candidates for the Hong Kong coaches position, but lost out to former England batsman Aftab Habib. He will now be going more further afield than he has ever gone, and will be taking up a position as coach of Fiji.

He has been given a six month contract to begin with, and his main job will be to ensure that Fiji get promoted back to Division Three of the World Cricket League when they take part in Division Four in Tanzania in October, where Fiji's opponents, in addition to the hosts, will be Italy, Hong Kong, and the finalists from next month's Division Five tournament.

His first engagement comes in mid-May when Vanuatu tour Fiji for a three match series. A repeat of the series that took place in Suva last year, which Fiji won 3-0, Vanuatu, the top ranked affiliate in the region, will be looking for at least one win to bolster their chances of gaining associate membership of the ICC.
