Onto the rest of the news!

Bermuda

David Hemp has been in fine form for Glamorgan in County Cricket, and recently scored his second first-class century of the season, hitting 104 for Glamorgan against Derbyshire. He is one of four associate players to make a first-class century in the current English season, the others being Ryan ten Doeschate, Freddie Klokker and Navdeep Poonia.

Bermuda will be hoping that Hemp will be available for some of their internationals this year, especially the associate World Twenty20 qualifier and the ODI against the West Indies. Glamorgan are obligated to release him for those matches under the current ICC rules, but whether they will or not, given he is the captain of the team, is an entirely different matter.

Canada

The main event in Canada this weekend is the National Twenty20 Championships at the Maple Leaf Cricket Club in King City, Ontario. The tournament is to be televised locally. Twenty20 cricket could be coming to Canada later in the year too, with Pakistan set to play the West Indies in a series of Twenty20 matches.

No word as to whether Canada will be involved in that series, though they are to host the West Indies and Bermuda in an ODI tri-series later this year.

Guernsey

Guernsey are set to play a part in the preparations for Division Five of the World Cricket League this week. They will be playing against Nepal and the Bahamas as those two teams prepare for the tournament.

Malaysia

Former Sri Lankan international Romesh Kaluwitharana has been appointed coach of Malaysia on a short-term basis. He will take charge of the team for the ACC Trophy in July. Five applicants have applied for the position in the long-term.

Rwanda

André Kayitera has become just the second person, and first Rwandan, to score a century in Rwanda. Kayitera, who is 19, scored 124 runs whilst captaining the Young Tigers to a 155 run victory over Kigali CC. Ugandan player Edward Kataha was the only previous centurion in Rwandan cricket. The bowling record almost went in the match too, as Eric Dusabemungu picked up seven wickets in the Kigali innings, one short of the record haul of eight.
