Guernsey won the toss and batted.

Guernsey 276 for 8 in 50 overs

Jeremy Frith 72, Matt Oliver 68, Ross Kneller 32
Bahamas 118 all out

C Atkinson 33, Jeremy Frith 5 for 19, Tim Duke 4 for 39.

Guernsey openers Matt Oliver and debutant Ross Kneller put on 108 for the first wicket and at one stage Guernsey looked set for a score of 300 plus. The loss of a couple of quick wickets and the introduction of the Bahamas spinners slowed down the rate. Oliver's 68 came from 66 balls and the momentum was picked up by Jeremy Frith who made 72 from 83 balls and from the 9th wicket pair of Blane Queripel and Stuart Bisson who took 17 off the last over.

The Bahamas lost wickets steadily from the outset as seamer Tim Duke took the first 4 wickets despite struggling with his radar with the white ball. As is so often the case the introduction of Guernsey's spin twins of Gary Rich and Jeremy Frith proved crucial. Offspinner Rich conceded just 19 runs in 9 overs while at the other end Frith snared 5 for 19 in 8.4 overs to dismiss the visitors for just 118 in 39.4 overs.

Today sees Guernsey host Nepal in what looks like being a cracking match.
