Hong Kong

The organisers of the Hong Kong Sixes have lost both their sponsors for this year's tournament; Cathay Pacific and Standard Chartered. The organisers are looking for new sponsors, and they need an airline as an essential - Cathay Pacific used to fly in all the teams as part of their deal.

Indonesia

Indonesia have recently announced an expansion to their domestic competitions. They are also aiming to be invited to take part in the cricket tournament at the 2010 Asian Games. This poses a bit of a problem for the Asian Cricket Council, who intended to use next year's ACC Twenty20 Cup as a qualifier. Indonesia (along with Japan) are part of the East Asia/Pacific region of the ICC, and hence do not play in ACC tournaments. They do however take part in the Asian Games and hence can not currently qualify for that cricket tournament.

Israel

India have named their A squad for their tour of Israel later this month to celebrate the country's 60th anniversary. The squad is Jaydev Shah (Captain), Swapnil Asnodkar, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ravi Teja, M Vijay, Wriddhiman Saha, Rajat Bhatia, Yogesh Takawale, Rakesh Dhruv, Mohnish Parmar, Vishal Bhatia, Basant Mohanty, Pradeep Sangwan, Ashok Dinda and Vinay Kumar. It is perhaps not the the strongest team they could have sent, with India A also having a tournament in Australia to play in.

Uganda

Uganda will be holding a corporate Twenty20 league next weekend, with teams sponsored by companies from around the world next week, with a first prize of approximately $3,000. Meanwhile, Uganda will be touring South Africa for one month as they prepare for Division Three of the World Cricket League in Argentina early next year.

USA

The USA national team have of course been busy in Jersey this past week, but domestic cricket there continued with the USACA Central East Region tournament in Michigan over the memorial day weekend. The Midwest Cricket Conference were the eventual winners, beating the International Cricket Management League by 192 runs in the final.
