Yes it's showdown time in the Danish League where undefeated Skanderborg and Glostrup meet in Copenhagen tomorrow Saturday for the first encounter. However, Glostrup are the strong favorites to win as they have, during the year so far, brushed aside all opposition while Skanderborg have had to pull out all resources to win their matches. Glostrup have before been in the same position yet still they threw away the championship in a play-off match. And yet this year Glostrup have not had the services of a foreign player/coach which in itself tends to strengthen the theorem that the quality of cricket has fallen more than Glostrup have improved.

Glostrup made sure last week to remove any hopes of defending champions Svanholm defending their title with a three wicket victory over a Svanholm side that are tormented by a long injury list. Svanholm's problems continued last weekend injurywise though they had no problems beating Herning with young Ali Shah taking 6 wickets. Herning lost both their matches last weekend and are now in the bottom three fighting against AB and Husum for survival. The two bottom sides Husum and AB met last Sunday where Husum proved they have a chance of survival. AB have not been of full strength and missing their Danish national bowler Bashir Shah who is in Pakistan for family reasons. ABs misery continued when they fell foul of Esbjerg's pitch in damp weather and were bowled out for 46. Hopefully AB will be more at full strength after the summer recess and can pull themselves off the bottom spot.
Norrebro the Copenhagen Pakistani side have found form after a bad start to the season and have removed themselves from the relegation places. The same applies for Esbjerg whose recent victory over AB keeps them out of trouble.

In the first division it is now almost certain that KB will return to the top flight as they have outclassed everybody else. Albertslund are still on course for taking second spot and yet another crack at promotion. Neighbours Ishoj have disappointed this season and are out of it while Kolding who came up this year have surprised and seem to safe for any relegation worries. Fellow promoted Ålborg are finding life hard, although thay have won a match and are fighting it out with Svanholm II. Fredericia who were favorites yet again for relegation have had a good season so far and are out of danger.

After this weekends matches the league enters it's summer recess as Denmark play against the MCC next week prior to their departure for Dublin and the ECC 1. division championships

Matches are Glostrup v Skanderborg, Esbjerg v Herning, AB v Skanderborg.
KB v Ishoj, Kolding v Fredericia, Aalborg v Koge, Albertslund v Svanholm II
