Estonia have celebrated their ICC membership with a win in the Carmel CC invitational Euro Twenty20 over the weekend.

After the 5th and 7th place play-offs were washed out on Thursday, the semi-finals took place on Friday and saw the Czech Republic beat the Wisniewski XI (representing Poland) by six wickets and Estonia beat Croatia by 61 runs.

After a rest day on Saturday, finals day took place yesterday. The third place play-off saw the Wisniewski XI beat Croatia, whilst a close final saw Estonia beat the Czech Republic by four wickets with just one ball to spare.

The tournament will go down as a success for all involved, and it is good to see some of the up and coming European sides playing international cricket. European Division Two team Croatia will be quite disappointed with their fourth place finish, though they were playing a weakened side. They will need to play better if they are to avoid a last place finish in Guernsey next month.
