Over the weekend, cricket clubs in Jersey gave their backing to the proposed eleven team Channel Islands league. The competition had already been approved by their Guernsey counterparts.

Much is still to be worked out, especially the logistics of travelling from island to island, but the new competition has already been pencilled in for next year.

It is hoped that the tournament will give players from both countries more experience of playing in slightly different conditions, thus helping Jersey and Guernsey in European and global tournaments.
