Canada have lost to Guyana by 7 wickets in their final match of the West Indies domestic one-day competition.

Sunil Dhaniram, playing in and against the country of his birth, won the toss and chose to bat first. Canada set out more to bat out their 50 overs rather than make a big score, and this they achieved. They reached 164/4 from their 50 overs, Dhaniram top scoring with an unbeaten 53.

The target was no trouble for the hosts, who reached it in their 37th over, winning by seven wickets. Steven Jacobs was their top scorer with 54 not out.

In the other matches of the day, the Leeward Islands beat the Windward Islands by 70 runs and Trinidad & Tobago beat the Combined Campuses and Colleges by 85 runs. The Leewards will play Barbados in the semi-finals on Saturday, whilst Trinidad & Tobago will come up against Jamaica.

Canada and the USA will now head to Florida where Division One of the Americas Championship will get underway on Tuesday. This may not have been the ideal preparation for that tournament, but it's more preparation than the other four teams have had. Look out for a preview of the tournament on CricketEurope over the weekend.
