With the split in divisions of the ACC Trophy, it was hoped that the ridiculous thrashings that blighted the 2006 ACC Trophy would be a thing of the past.

However, that is not the case as today's matches could only muster 36.4 overs between them with Thailand easily beating China and Oman thrashing Myanmar almost as bad as Nepal did in 2006.

China batted first against Thailand and were bowled out for 39, with 12 extras being the only score in double figures. Noppon Senamontree was the pick of the Thai bowlers with 4/21. Thailand knocked off the runs inside seven overs to win by eight wickets.

In the other match of the day, Myanmar were never expected to perform well against Oman, but they would have been hoping for better than being bowled out for just 12 - though at least they went past their nadir of 10 against Nepal in 2006. Adnan Ilyas was the pick of Oman's bowlers with three wickets for one run, and Oman knocked off their required total in 14 balls to win by ten wickets.
