If Kenya were hoping for a consolation win in this five match ODI series, three Zimbabwean batsmen had other ideas in Nairobi today.

Kenya chose to bat after winning the toss and whilst veteran Kennedy Otieno and young up and comer Seren Waters both got starts opening the batting, Kenya were soon struggling on 92/6.

Collins Obuya and Rajesh Bhudia then set about rebuilding the Kenyan innings with a partnership of 75 before Bhudia was out for a career best 40. Obuya stayed in and was last out for 75, also a career best, as Kenya scored 199 in 48.5 overs.

Zimbabwe's reply got off to a nightmare start when they were reduced to 2/2 after seven deliveries, but that was the last ray of hope for the Kenyans.

Hamilton Masakadza and Stuart Matsikenyeri put on 93 for the third wicket before Matsikenyeri was out for 50. Masakadza was joined by Sean Williams and the pair put on 108 for the fourth wicket to take Zimbabwe past their target and to a seven wicket win. Masakadza scored 84 at exactly one run per ball and Sean Williams scored 63 from 64 balls.

Kenya will now regroup as they begin preparations for the World Cup Qualifiers, whilst Zimbabwe will again play an associate when they play host to Canada in March.
