Four of the country’s most experienced players, batsmen John Ovia and Peter Moide, all-rounder Jamie Brazier and wicketkeeper Ipi Morea have announced their retirements from international cricket and will take up positions within the national coaching and development structure.

Fifteen uncapped players feature and 18 of the squad are aged under 25.

The newcomers are batsmen Tanti Heni, Jermiah Nigani, Vagi Oala, Tony Ura, Heni Siaka, all-rounders Colin Amini, Greg Baeau, John Reva, Mahuta Kivung, Joel Tom and Jason Kila, fast bowlers Raymond Haoda Jnr and Pipi Raho, leg spinner Vali Albert and wicketkeeper-batsmen Arua Dikana and Jack Vare.

Chris Amini, Loa Nou, Assad Vala, Vani Vagi Morea, Kila Pala, Willie Gavera and Haoda Jnr are also part of the East Asia-Pacific regional team that will receive specialist coaching at Cricket Australia’s Centre of Excellence in November and compete in the Australian State Country Cricket Championships early in 2010.
