After beating Singapore 3-0 in their series, the Air India cricket team travelled to Malaysia to play against a Malaysian Cricket Association President's XI in a three-match series.

The series was marred by rain, with one match abandoned, and the other two being decided by the Duckworth/Lewis method. The series ended in a 1-1 tie.

Like Singapore, the Malaysian side also saw some fine individual performances, with the highlight being Mohammed Shafiq Sharif's 111 in the final match, which the MCA President's XI won by 24 runs.
