Lancaster Park-Woolston, who play in the Canterbury club competition in New Zealand, have signed Gerrie Snyman as their overseas professional for the 2009/10 season.

Snyman spent the 2009 northern hemisphere season playing in the Netherlands for VRA in the Hoofdklasse. He missed part of the season with an injury, and scored 429 runs at an average of 35.75 and took 12 wickets at an average of 23.67. VRA eventually lost to Excelsior in the final.

Park-Woolston coach Garry MacDonald, who discovered Snyman whilst playing for Rood en Wit this summer, compared Snyman with former LPW player Chris Cairns.
