USA finally got off the mark with their first win in their fourth attempt with a straightforward five wicket victory against Jersey. Chasing a small target of 88 the platform was set by a fine opening stand of 60 between Fahad Babar (30) and man of the match Akeem Dodson (31). Although they only hit 3 boundaries between them they ran intelligently between the wickets to ensure there were no early alarms.

Despite twice losing two wickets in two balls Nick Stantford with 13 (1 four and 1 six) and Mrunal Patel saw the USA home with over four overs to spare. Nat Watkins picked up three of the five wickets to fall.

Earlier, the Jersey innings never really got going as only Ben Stevens (10) of the top six batsmen made double figures but credit must go to bowlers Naseer Jamali (3 for 12) and Hammad Shahid (3 for 22) who shared the first six wickets as Jersey slumped to 47 for 6.

Tony Kay attempted to rescue the Jersey innings but he was superbly caught by wicket keeper Dodson for 18. This was one of six dismissals (4 catches and 2 stumpings) for Dodson, a record for a T20 qualifying tournament.

Both teams are now on 2 points each and each still have an outside chance of reaching the playoffs.
