While Jutland was blazed in sunshine it was more grey and cloudy in Copenhagen as this year's Cup Final was played at Svanholm Park between Svanholm and the present Danísh Champions Herning. This was a close encounter though never a drama where one batsman from each side dominated preceedings. Herning were a better side in the field though they did drop a catch that could have turned out to be crucial.

HerningHerning won the toss and decided to bat getting to a good start against Svanholm's opening bowlers until 34 was on the board. Then Anjum got a inswinger that beat Mogen Christiansen pushing forward. Soon after, Svanholm introduced spin, as they had three spinners on board. Notably their playing coach Brett Mulder kept Herning very quiet the first couple of overs while Hamid Shah bowled from the other end. Hamid had Michael Pedersen caught at mid off but then the bowlers were switched round which gave Herning a bit of a breather even though Bobby Chawla soon bowled Carsten Pedersen round his legs. It was Herning's Troels Thogersen who kept things together and kept the scoreboard ticking by playing intellegently into the gaps. He was helped along the way by Jacob Larsen and Morten Hedegaard who both finally fell to Mulder's off spinners. In the fianl chase for runs wickets fell and Thogersen was caught in the deep for 87 out of Herning's final score of 169 for 8 of their allotted 40 overs

Svanholm on the other hand never got off to a good start. They lost captain Zishan Shah in the first over to Herning's Hamad Zaman who was swinging the ball both ways. Soon Svanholm were 21 for 2 and 33 for 3 as Zaman bolwed Rashid. And it got worse as Hamid was run out off a direct hit from Hamad Zaman coming in from deep mid off and Svanholm were reeling at 34 for 4. The coup d'etat would have been if Herning's twelfth man had held on to the skier that Svanholm's Jim Moniz hit off his first ball. Instead Jim went on to counterattack and put Svanholm in back with a chance. The only draw back was none of the remaing Svanholm  batsmen could stick around to build a partnership. Only Brett Mulder looked like doings this but then Jim mistimed a drive that gave change bowler Thogersen an easy return catch. Jim was out for 59 and that put an end to Svanholm's chances as the last wickets fell cheaply. Svanholm ended 28 runs short being bowled out for 141.

After the match Herning were presented with the Cup by DCF Chairman Thomas Kentorp who said as Herning had won this cup four times before they could now keep it. Thomas was of course hoping that Herning's Chairman Folmer Christiansen would sponsor a new cup for next years competition.

Elsewhere two 1st division matches were played. Promoted Hviovre have found the going really tough in the 1st division. Especially their bowling is lacing in quality, as their fast bowlers are lacking in length. Saturday saw them playing against leaders Ishoj whose batsmen have been on song so far this season and against Hvidovre it was easy as they scored 299. Hvidovre have yet to make a decent score as they again were out cheaply in reply just scoring 100. Skanderborg were visiting Aalborg who had withdrawn from the Cup saying they were no match for Skanderborg. But Saturday they had courage enough to field first. Skanderborg made a hefty 242 but Aalborg were down to 10 men, as their opening bowler soon broke down. In reply Aalborg fell apart and were out for 67.
