Wednesdays match against Scotland A in the ECC 1. division tournament was played at FB which is on Jersey well known for it's lush outfield and stable pitch. Both turned out to be true. The pitch was an excellent batting track which was quite a change for the Danes after the Jersey match. The weather forecast was a bit dubious and that was probably why the Scots, after winning the toss, put the Danes in to bat. Denmark left out Troels Thogersen, Rizwan Mahmood and Bashir Shah.

The Scottish opening bowlers kept their line and length and that didn't levy much room for any Danish aggression. Zishan Shah flashed at a ball outside off stump and got 4 through the slips but he soon after edged a forward defensive shot straight to second slip and Shiekh took the catch. However Frederik Klokker and Michael Pedersen built up a partnership until at 55 Frederik shoved a ball straight to mid wicket. Hamid Shah took over and he continued where he left off from the Jersey match and showed he has a talent as a batsman. With 68 on the board Michael played a shot too early and was caught in the covers but then his big brother Carsten came in. Hamid and Carsten then put on 65 for the next wicket but in hindsight they used up too many balls to strat with and didn't pressurize the Scottish spinner enough. Just around the 40 over mark the gear went up and Hamid was finally caught on the long-leg boundary. Martin Pedersen came in and also he continued in the same vein as before with some hard hitting. Carsten was caught in the deep and Jacob Larsens came in and hit 10 runs off three balls to end the innings on 175 for 5.

The Scottish innings was only 2 overs old when the rain came in without much warning. The second shower contained thunder and heavy rain fell for several minutes. Cleaning up and waiting for water to disappear took time so the final decision to play came at the last minute leaving Scotland just 20 overs to score 95 runs to win. David Borchersen was dangerous as he managed to move the ball in the air. He got the Scottish opener Coleman to play on. Spinner Michael Pedersen got Flannigan stumped with 54 on the board and soon after Jacob Larsen enticed a return catch out of Hairs. Even the Scots kept the run rate above par the Danes were not lost. Frederik Klokker smartly stumped the Scottish captain Sheikh down the leg side off Chawla's bowling. Chawla trapped Chamlers lbw but in the end it wasn't enough as the Scots got home with 8 balls to spare.

The Danes went out to the Scottish innings with great enthusiasm and determined to win and gave a great account for themselves. Several were sure the Scots would have had a hard job on thier hands if they had to play 50 overs. Coach Simon Talbot was very impressed himself and noticed things were improving and confidence growing. He is sure the Danes will make a name for themselves in the coming matches.
