YMCA earned another crucial win in their quest for the league title, edging past Clontarf in another nerve jangling encounter.

Simmi Singh (74) and veteran Alan Lewis (68) shared a second wicket stand of 118 to put YM on course for what looked a very straightforward win before the intervention of Joe Morrissey.

JoMo tore through the middle order claiming 5 for 16 as YM stumbled form 180 for 3 to 189 for 7.

Bobby Gamble proved the man for the crisis though, striking four boundaries in his 20 not out as YM fell over the line.

Earlier Bill Coghaln's patient 50 and Eoghan Delany's undefeated 48 had been the main contributors to Clontarf's 210 for 6.

Spinners Simmi Singh (2-23) and Albert van der Merwe (2-25) had been the pick of the Claremont Road side's attack.

A win for YMCA next week against Merrion would ensure the title.
