Well an absolute pasting really, Munsey and Coetzer imperious, showing up what already looked like a below par UAE score on an excellent deck. UAE started brightly but from two overs in Scotland were utterly dominant, disciplined with the ball and alert in the field, holding key catches and generally running rings round the UAE batsmen. A dream start for the hosts and a shock for the widely tipped Emiratis, Scotland will have done their Net Run Rate no harm but based on this showing it doesn't look like they'll need it. 9:31 AM Good morning and welcome to our post-hoc coverage of the WT20 Qualifiers opening match between hosts Scotland and the United Arab Emirates. It's a bright cool morning here in Edinburgh and we're about ready for the toss, players out warming up and captains in the middle with the officials.
The hosts are in fine form coming into the competition, with a brace of victories over Ireland last month and two convincing wins in the warm-ups.
