As expected the Pakistan Academy took little time in wrapping up Kenya's tail on day two of their four day match at the Nairobi Gymkhana ground. A quick 14 runs from Peter Ongondo helped Kenya to reach 372 all out, but not before Anwer Ali added Hiren Varaiya to his list of overnight victims to finish with 7 for the innings.

In reply, the Academy got of to half decent start despite losing both Umer Amin and Asad Shaffique to a fiery Peter Ongondo with the score on 22. It was Khurram Manzoor, the other Pakistani opener that looked as though he was going to be the key to the game as he settled straight in and looked comfortable all innings. Adding 67 for the third wicket with Fawad Alam, Pakistan looked like they were in the driving seat until Hiren Varaiya had Alam caught by Rakep Patel for 22.

Manzoor then set up camp with Raheel Majid with the latter contributing a brisk 33 before he became Ongondo's third victim when he holed out o Odoyo. Pakistan Academy were 141/4 and with Manzoor now past his 50 were still looking as though they could still post a big score. Unfortunately for the visitors, the rest of the batsmen failed to come to terms with the spin of Varaiya and Steve Tikolo who swapped wickets at regular intervals to bowl them out for 277.

Manzoor was unlucky not to carry his bat, becoming Tikolo's third wicket and the second last of the innings as he tried to up the run rate as he ran out of partners. while Tikolo had removed the dangerman, it was Varaiya who had the last laugh when he picked up the final wicket of Junaid Khan to finish with 4/66.

Kenya had 7 overs to last before stumps, but failed to get there without mishap losing Kennedy Obuya LBW to Anwer Ali. Fellow opener Alex Obanda resumes tomorrow on 3 with Rakep Patel (4*) as Kenya will look to consolidate their 110 run lead. Key for the visitors will once again be Anwer Ali, but with their spinners in such good touch, the hosts will feel they have a real chance to take this match if they can build on their first innings lead.
