Resuming on 72/2 on the final day, the tourists needed a further 288 runs for victory. Night watchman Anwer Ali did more than his allocated job, not only frustrating the Kenyan attack but adding a valuable 38 runs before Jimmy Kamande finally induced the edge for Morris Ouma to pouch the catch behind the stumps. Pakistan Academy Captain Khuram Manzoor continued to add to his overnight half century and looked for all money as though he was going to record a century in both innings. Hiren Varaiya had other plans and removed him caught and bowled on 98, but at the other end Fawad Alam was building to a century of his own and in the end it was his stand with Raheel Majid (42) that took the visitors to within scent of victory.

Kenya were not quite done yet however as Morris Ouma took two more catches as Alfred Luseno picked up his first and only wicket of the match when he drew the edge from Majid and Hiren Varaiya picked up his third when Naeem Anjum fell the same way. In the end though, Pakistan academy were able to build too many partnerships and Alam reached his century to guide his team home with 4 wickets to spare.

For Pakistan Academy, this is another good win on foreign soil, while for Kenya it was once again a case of what could have been. Action now moves to Mombasa for the second and final four day match before a series of One Dayers.
