A report on the KNCB website announces the groups for next year's World Cup qualifying tournament in South Africa, which are based on current ICC rankings. The groups are:

Group A
Ireland
Scotland
Canada
Oman
Namibia
+ Runner-up WCL Div 3

Group B
Kenya
The Netherlands
Bermuda
UAE
Denmark
+ Winner WCL Div 3

With only four World Cup places at stake, there are some tough battles in prospect, especially in Group A, where the presence of rapidly-improving Namibia will pose a threat to the higher-ranked teams.

The final two places in the tournament will be settled in Argentina in January, where World Cricket League Division 3 will be contested between the hosts, Afghanistan, the Cayman Islands, Hong Kong, Papua New Guinea and Uganda.

The top four teams in the qualifying tournament will proceed to the World Cup, with the next two joining them in Division 1 of the World Cricket League. The top eight countries are likely to make up the next edition of the first-class Intercontinental Cup competition.
